Furniture & Household Essentials
In 2024, we delivered 3,719 essential household items to people in urgent need across Warrington and nearby areas at no cost to them.

Every day, we receive referrals from local agencies and support workers helping people through some of the toughest times of their lives.
Often, the people we support are moving into a place they can finally call home, but it’s completely empty.
No carpet. No furniture. No bed. No mattress. No kettle. No microwave. No cups, plates, or bedding. Just four bare walls.
We’re called in to help people who are:
Fleeing domestic violence
Previously homeless and trying to rebuild
Recovering after long stays in hospital
Recently bereaved and unable to work
Struggling with mental health
Parents doing their best, but barely able to provide
These aren’t rare cases, they’re daily realities. And without support, many would be left to sleep on floors, cook with nothing, and live without the basics most of us take for granted.
From Empty Rooms to Fresh Starts
When a mum of two lost her husband to suicide, she found herself with no income, no furniture, and no way to rebuild not even a bed for her children to sleep in.
Thanks to donations from people like you, we were able to help. Beds, a kettle, bedding, basic essentials. Small things that meant everything.
This is what your support makes possible. Together, we’re turning empty properties into homes and giving families the dignity and comfort they deserve in their hardest moments.
Our History
CARE UK Charity began with a single post on Facebook in 2015, a heartfelt plea in response to the tragic image of 4-year-old Aylan Kurdi. What followed was an outpouring of support that sparked our very first aid shipment and set the foundation for everything we do today.
From global aid efforts to hands-on support for local families in Warrington, our journey has been shaped by compassion, community, and the belief that no one should go without life’s essentials.
Powered by People
We’re proud to be 99.9% self-funded.
That means every donation, every item sold in our charity shops, and every bit of community support helps us continue our work.
Some donated items go directly to people in crisis. Others are sold in our Warrington and Runcorn shops to raise vital funds.
Because here’s the truth:
We don’t have corporate sponsors or guaranteed grants. We have two shops, a small but mighty team, and a community that refuses to look the other way.
