Got a spare sofa? A few kitchen bits you no longer need? Clothes that deserve a second home?

At CARE UK Charity, passing things on has always been at the heart of what we do. It’s how we started, and it’s still how we make the biggest difference today.

We urgently need good-quality furniture, clothing, and household essentials to support local people going through tough times.

Some items go straight to individuals and families in crisis. Others are sold in our charity shops in Warrington and Runcorn to raise the funds that keep everything running.

What We Can Accept

We’re always grateful for your donations – they help us support local people in crisis across Warrington. Here’s what we’re currently able to accept:

Furniture
Sofas, armchairs, dining sets, beds, wardrobes, and more. All upholstered furniture must have a valid fire label.

Large Electricals
Items like fridges, freezers, washing machines, and TVs (subject to condition and safety checks).

Small Electricals
Including kettles, toasters, microwaves, lamps, and home audio/visual equipment.

Technology
We can take phones, tablets, laptops, and PCs. (Please make sure to remove your data before donating.)

Clothing
All ages and sizes – women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, plus shoes and school uniforms.

Accessories
Jewellery, watches, handbags, purses, belts, and hats.

Books
Including fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, comics, and collectables.

Entertainment & Media
DVDs, video games, vinyl, board games, puzzles, and toys.

Homeware & Bric-a-Brac
From cushions and curtains to vases, kitchenware, ornaments, and small decorative items.

Collectables
We’re always happy to receive things like stamps, coins, medals, and memorabilia.

Please note: We can’t accept items that are broken, stained, heavily worn, or missing parts.
Due to safety regulations, we’re also unable to take:

  • Used mattresses without a valid fire label

  • Car seats and baby walkers

  • Gas appliances or items with significant damage

Pop into either of our shops between 9:30 am and 2:00 pm on their open days, we’d love to see you!

Got larger items?
We offer a free furniture collection service. Our friendly team will come to you.

Before booking, please email us with a few photos of the items you'd like to donate. This helps us check that they meet our safety and quality standards.

Can’t Donate Items? You Can Still Help

While many of the things we provide are donated, some essentials like new pillows, microwaves, cleaning packs, and kitchenware often need to be purchased.

A one-off or monthly donation helps us fill the gaps, respond faster, and support even more people with the basics they need to live safely and comfortably.
