Our Work
At CARE UK Charity, we support people in crisis across Warrington and the surrounding areas, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity, comfort, and hope.
Our work focuses on two core areas:
In 2024 alone, we delivered 3,719 essential household items to local individuals and families in urgent need.
Every single day, we respond to referrals from local agencies and support workers who are helping people through incredibly tough times, from homelessness to domestic abuse, bereavement to long-term illness.
Often, the people we support have just been given a property. But it’s completely empty.
No carpet. No furniture. No bed. No mattress. No kettle. No microwave. No cups, plates, or bedding. Just four bare walls.
Many of our referrals come from people who are:
Fleeing domestic violence
Recovering from long-term hospitalisation
Recently bereaved and unable to work
Previously homeless and starting again
Mental Health
Struggling to provide for their children due to the cost-of-living crisis
One recent referral was for a mother of two who had lost her husband to suicide. With no income, she was struggling to cover basic bills, let alone buy beds for her children after having to move. This isn’t a rare case. It’s one of many.
Your donations of household essentials help us fill these homes and give families a fresh start.
We believe no one in Warrington should be sleeping on the floor or unable to make a hot drink. Together, we’re turning empty properties into homes and restoring dignity during times of crisis.
Free Clothing Support
In 2024, our team completed 1,675 clothing referrals, distributing an incredible 17,610 items of clothing to people across Warrington.
We provide free clothing to individuals and families referred by local authorities, charities, schools, and support organisations.
Right now, many of the people we support are seeking asylum — individuals and families who’ve arrived in the UK with nothing and are doing their best to start again. But our support goes far beyond that.
We currently work with an amazing network of local partners, including:
Warrington School Uniform Network, Early Essentials, St Joseph’s Family Centre, Warrington Foodbank, Refugee Assist, Working Wardrobe, and Citizens Advice.
But we know there are still many more people who need help, and we want to reach them.
Our charity was originally founded to support refugees and asylum seekers, and the belief that kindness should be shown to everyone remains at the heart of what we do. Today, our purpose is simple: to help anyone in Warrington facing hardship, no matter their background.
We currently have a surplus of good-quality clothing and are actively looking to expand our referral network.
Are you part of a local school, charity, community group, or support organisation?
We’d love to work with you. Please get in touch to find out how we can support the people you work with.

Let’s make sure no one in Warrington goes without the basics.
Powered by People
We’re proud to be 99.9% self-funded.
That means every donation, every item sold in our charity shops, and every bit of community support helps us continue our work.
Some donated items go directly to people in crisis. Others are sold in our Warrington and Runcorn shops to raise vital funds.
Because here’s the truth:
We don’t have corporate sponsors or guaranteed grants. We have two shops, a small but mighty team, and a community that refuses to look the other way.
